Production Supervisor

Production / Quality Supervisor - GeorgeOur client in the manufacturing food industry is looking for a dynamic, qualified production / quality supervisor to join their team.Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:Performs daily walks and visual inspections of the Production floor in observation of unsafe and ensures corrective measures are implemented.Maintains safety / environmental visual checks, ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goalsTrain employees to ensure safe operating procedures are followedprovides staff with training on line with their job functionResponsibility for the performance review of the staffResponsible for IR relating to staff within production areaAdheres to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality resultsEnsures that QC's implemented during the production processMaintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properlyMaintain or exceed goals on yields and efficienciesWorks in conjunction with management in maintaining and developing methos of calculations, typical problems areas and methods for corrections and improvementsSuggests changes in workflow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and / or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possibleActive member of H&S within the company, serving on the committee and maintaining green meetings with staff for feedback sessionsResponsible for obtaining and ensuring valid certification for food safety premisesMaintain track and traceability as well as certificate of acceptance for produced productsMaintain corrective action process and records for recall and / or damages Minimum Requirements:

• Matric qualification or the equivalent
• 5+ years of related experience in production environment relating to food stuffs
• 5+ years in supervisory role overseeing production teams essential
• Certifications in Quality management, Health and safety, production, HACCP will beneficial
• Computer literate Internet, Spreadsheet, word, order and inventory software, preferred
• Must have manufacturing knowledge with ability to draft and implement SOP
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving ability
• /ability motivate, train and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement
• Good planning and priority setting skills
• Ability to work in varying production environments (heat and cold)
• Be physically fit for the production environment
