We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in providing expert legal advice and support to our organization. You will be responsible for managing a broad range of legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to provide strategic legal counsel to senior management.What you’ll do:Review and or draft ICT-related agreements including but not limited to Master Services Agreements, Reseller Agreements, Representation Agreements, and Software.Draft agreements that minimize risks and maximize legal rights.Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.Review and comment on Government tenders.Anticipate issues and estimate risks strategically.Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.Deal with external parties (regulators, external counsel, clients, advocates).Review client contracts and ensure risk is minimized.Engage with the business regularly to understand the contractual requirement and add detailed commercial value to a contractual review/ draft.Keep abreast of legislative changes and continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations.Your Expertise:Post-admission experience of at least 8 years at a law firm in SA or as an in-house legal counsel, specializing in Corporate and Commercial work.BBEEE position, African male or female preferable.Strong commercial legal background dealing with reviewing and drafting all types of commercial agreements.Experience in the IT industry is a requirement.Experience in the reviewing of Government Tenders is an absolute requirement.The CV should indicate at least a few years in each position held.Qualifications Required:Minimum of an LLB Degree.Personal Attributes:Innovative.Solution orientated.Out-of-the-box thinker.Clear analytical thinking and innovation.Creativity and initiative.Leadership and social influence.Emotional Intelligence.Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking.Ability to work independently and/or work as a member of a team.Upholds ethics and values acts with integrity.Strategic and analytical problem-solving skills.Drive for results, focus on customer needs and satisfaction, set high standards for quality and quantity and consistently achieve set goals.Other information applicable to the opportunity:Permanent positionLocation: Johannesburg – Full time.
