Bending Machine Operator

Description:

Responsible for the set up and operate of machine to bend metal structural shapes, such as bars, rods, angles, pipes, and tubes, to angle or contour specified by work order, drawings, templates, or layout: Selects and bolts holding clamp, die block, and guide clamp to machine. Education & Experience • Matric. • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position. • Experience as a Bending Machine Operator or similar position. • Experience in the Manufacturing and or Engineering sector. • Bilingual (Afrikaans and English). • Computer Literate. • Driver’s license. • Attention to detail. • Good interpersonal communication skills both verbally and written. • Problem-solving skills. • Hardworking. • Dedicated and reliable. • Can work under pressure. • Multi-tasking. • Always willing to learn. • Flexible with the ability to manage stress. • Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. • Read specifications or follow verbal instructions. • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs. • May select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs. • Build staging or erect scaffolding as required for heavy metalworking jobs. • Clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required. • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs. • Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. • Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations. • Work with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order. • Operate tools in order to aid in the manufacturing process. • Responsible for complete of documentation. • Must be able to analyze situations and find solutions.
