Description:
Our client, a supplier and manufacturer of conveyor belts, is currently hiring a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician specialising in belt scales and conveyor equipment, to join their team in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems primarily related to belt scales and conveyor equipment. This role will require extensive international travel, up to 75% of the time, to various client sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Travelling Domestic and Internationally
- Installation and Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission belt scales and conveyor equipment at customer sites worldwide
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues on belt scales and conveyor equipment, utilizing technical expertise and diagnostic tools to resolve problems efficiently
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and service reports
- Provide detailed technical reports to management and clients as needed
- Customer Interaction: Interface directly with customers to understand their requirements, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and problem-solving
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling products and services. Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including product demonstrations and customer presentations

- Electrical Technician: 5 to 6 years
- Field Service: 4 to 5 years
- Instrumentation Technician: 5 to 6 years
- Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting (focusing on belt scales and conveyor equipment)
- Experience in international travel and field service roles is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems (belt scales and conveyor equipment)
- Experience with sales
- Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting (focusing on belt scales and conveyor equipment)
- Experience in international travel and field service roles is advantageous
Technical Expertise:
