Description:
Sales Representative – Consumer Hardware (AA/EE)
Area: Montaque Gardens, Cape Town
Package: Basic R15000 p/m plus good commission structure, plus a company vehicle and med aid and pension and cell phone allowance
Overview: To actively market the basket of products to the Consumer (Hardware) sector, with the purpose of increasing market share, whilst providing excellent customer service.
Duties:
Call on existing Consumer customers and grow their sales volumes
− Maintain sound, ethical, business relationships
− Develop new business
− Plan and implement promotional activity to launch new products / focus on existing products
− Achieve monthly set budgets to meet targets
− Achieve monthly GP expectations
− Prepare weekly / monthly sales reports
− Conduct competitor surveys as necessary
− Foster and encourage spirit of teamwork
− Liaise with customers, including assisting with customer complaints, monitoring stock levels, presenting product training
− Ensure merchandising standards are maintained & maximize in store displays
− Utilize all relevant POS & stands available
− Submit monthly display survey forms
− Participate in trade shows
− Manage stock levels and ensure range representation in stores
− Communicate price increases timeously
− Visit customers in all areas as per agreed call cycle
− Conduct survey’s as and when required
− Maintain sound Admin practices
Requirements:
- Sales Rep: 2 to 3 years
- Consumer Goods: 1 to 2 years
- Hardware Stores Sales : 1 to 2 years
Qualifications and experience:
Education:
− Minimum Grade 12
− Sales and Marketing Qualification advantageous
− Experience with Syspro advantageous
Experience:
− Minimum 3 - 5 years sales representative experience
− Experience in sales to Consumer market an advantage
− A good understanding of the FMCG market
Skills:
− Very good communication skills, both verbal and written
− Ability to negotiate at all levels
− Presentation skills for training of customers
− Computer literacy on MS Office advantageous
− Report writing skills and good administration skills
− Ability to plan, prepare and achieve sales budgets
Other requirements:
− In possession of an unendorsed valid driver’s license
− Prepared to work after hours and on weekends for trade shows & promotions where necessary
