Hire Resolve's client is seeking a skilled and experienced Shift Millwright to join their team in the steel industry. The Shift Millwright is responsible to provide maintenance support to Production, Electrical/C&I and maintenance teams in the relevant areas. The Shift Millwright is the first line of defense. Breakdowns and inspections are performed on a 24-hrs basis to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, and production machinery
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency
- Install new equipment and machinery as needed
- Fabricate and weld metal components as required
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe work environment
- Train and mentor junior millwrights as needed
Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent OR N2 with Mathematics and Science
- Must have a relevant trade test as a Millwright
- A minimum of 3 years of plant experience as a qualified millwright.
- Experience in a heavy industry will be beneficial.
- Must have sound knowledge of planned maintenance principles
- Knowledge of maintenance & repairs on pumps, hydraulic, pneumatic and grease systems
- Knowledge of chain drives, drive shafts, fans, gearboxes and conveyor belt systems
- Knowledge required of maintenance on electrical motors as well as overhead cranes.
- Suitable candidate must be Computer literate
