CAD / CAM Designer

Description:

A well established company based in Roodepoort is seeking a CAD / CAM Designer

Duties:

• This is a computer based position utilizing the latest specialized surgical design software
• The person will work on specialized software using data from a patient CT scan to assist surgeons in planning a large range of surgical procedures and surgical implants/devices ;3D Printing surgical models, cutting guides and Patient Matched Implants
• We are looking for a young energetic person with great communication / presentation skills to expand the team of surgical designers
• Good presentation and communication skills are essential as communication with surgeons during planning meetings need to be of a high level
• There will be occasions where presentations to groups of surgeons or registrars at University needs to take place, and a good experience with presentation software such as Powerpoint is necessary
• Virtual surgical planning revolves around planning surgical procedure and is therefore deadline driven, so a well organised, committed, punctual and reliable person will succeed and flourish in this position
• Good time-management and working well under pressure is required
• Occasional visits to customers or hospitals are required, so own transport is essential - Use of own transport for these occasions will be reimbursed for
• This position involves Virtual Surgical Planning meetings on Zoom, with surgeons throughout the country and may require frequent on-line meetings
• Occasional after hours events such as congresses, surgeries, meetings etc. are part of the job description

• Bachelor of Science degree in any of the Human Sciences or Biomedical Engineering
• A background in Anatomy and Physiology is essential and will be useful in understanding the terminology when interacting with a surgeon
• Own car with a valid drivers license
• (M - F) 08:00 – 16:30 / 7am to 6pm for occasional meetings

• A good understanding and experience with the use of computers is essential
• CAD / CAM Experience beneficial

Requirements:
