Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grid Engineer to join our team. The Grid Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining grid infrastructure in order to ensure the efficient and reliable distribution of electricity. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electrical engineering and grid systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing grid infrastructure projects to improve efficiency and reliability
- Conducting thorough analysis and testing of grid systems to identify and resolve issues
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of grid projects
- Monitoring grid performance and developing strategies for optimization
- Providing technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of grid technologies and industry best practices
Must be familiar with the Nothern cape power grid
Requirements:
- Grid Planning: 5 to 6 years
- Grid Connection: 5 to 6 years
- Grid Generation: 5 to 6 years
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid engineering
- Proficiency in grid design software and tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to grid infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with renewable energy technologies and grid integration
- Project management experience
