We are currently seeking a highly skilled Chief Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team based in Germiston, Gauteng Province. As a key member of the engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of armored vehicles, contributing to the enhancement of cutting-edge technology and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in the design of armored vehicles, with a deep understanding of relevant engineering principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design tools.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Prior experience in project management is a plus.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Lead and manage the design team in the development of armored vehicle prototypes and production models.
• Oversee the entire design process, from conceptualization to final product, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and research and development, to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
• Conduct thorough analysis and testing of designs to identify potential areas for improvement and optimization.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in armored vehicle design, incorporating innovative solutions into our products.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
