Junior Bookkeeper

Description:

Company/client based in Lenasia, Johannesburg requires a Junior Bookkeeper to join their Finance team as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of customer profiles which will involve updating the customer details as and when changes take place, e.g. updating contact details, e-mail addresses, etc.
• Maintenance of the Annuity billing tool which will enable invoices to be generated monthly.
• Processing of invoices, payments, accruals, provisions, and journals.
• Ensure that all payments and receipts are updated daily so that all financial accounting transactions the team is responsible for are reflected in the trial balance.
• Ensuring that both debtor's and creditor’s age analyses are cleared weekly.
• Reconciliation on debtors, creditors, bank, and petty cash transactions.
• Generating and sending out monthly invoices to customers.
• Sending out monthly statements to customers, specifically to those who are in arrears with their accounts.
• Providing daily support on all outstanding queries from the regional offices and customers as and when required.
• Ad-hoc accounting duties.
• General assistance to the Senior Bookkeeper and Finance Manager.

• Matric and relevant Accounting Diploma / Degree.
• At least 1-2 years of practical bookkeeping work experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting packages together with sound VAT knowledge.
• Well-spoken, good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Must have Excel, Word, and Outlook experience.
• Must be able to work in a pressurized environment and be deadline and target-driven.
• Work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Manage own time, effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Confidentiality and integrity are non-negotiable.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Matric and relevant Accounting Diploma / Degree.
• At least 1-2 years of practical bookkeeping work experience.
