We are seeking a talented and experienced Aeronautical Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, familiarity with aerospace design principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.JOB PURPOSE· Work under the supervision, mentorship and guidance of a Senior Electrical Designer / Engineer· Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D/3D CAD software as required.· Produce designs and drawings for electrical systems, i.e. motor control centre schematic diagrams, protection block diagrams, cable schedules, single line drawings, power distribution layouts, general arrangement drawings and grounding/earthing designsKEY PERFORMANCE AREAS · Complete tasks within the time / cost defined in the project plan and budget.· Use time productively.· Interact appropriately with internal and external customers to provide feedback and support as required (professional and timeous).· Provide accurate and reasonable estimates for completing tasks.· Minimize rework by ensuring the requirements of the tasks and outputs are clearly understood.· Primary responsibilities include:o Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D/3D CAD software as required.o Produce designs and drawings for electrical systems, i.e. motor control centre schematic diagrams, protection block diagrams, cable schedules, single line drawings, power distribution layouts, general arrangement drawings and grounding/earthing designs.o Complete cable tray/rack routing and design 3D modelling.o Apply the requirements of IEC/IEEE/or local codes/standards as applicable to the respective project in executing electrical design work.o Check drawings prior to release.o Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines.o Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.o In conjunction with electrical engineering staff, produce detailed engineering drawings and documentation for identified and approved concepts/projects.o Participation in formal engineering review processeso Verify on-site condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities.· Continuously improve competency, through informal and formal training, prescribed reading, experimentation and other methods.· Explore (and share) alternative methods, technologies, potential products or services, etc. which may have benefits for the organisation, division or department.· To add significant value and improvement to the companys existing engineering capabilities, and as a consequence their products and services.· Provide support and guidance to other team members.
