Business Development Manager

The successful incumbent who will form part of the management team will report into the Managing Director and will take responsibility for the following key aspects:Management of the required activities to establish new sales channels to drive company sales, as well as the development and implementation of strategic business opportunities to achieve company growth objectives.Development of new markets and geographical areas for potential business expansion.Undertake and maintain the necessary relationship management with existing key customers, agents and partners as well as attend to the management of all customer facing employeesUndertake the necessary marketing activities by conducting market research and analysis in respect of market trends, competitor activities and customer needs.Participate in the necessary business strategies with the companys Executive team and provide the main source of expertise to lead such activities in the marketEngage in product development in consultation with the companys R&D and related operations to offer advanced solutions in support of customer specifications.Travel into African countries as part of the business export development strategyApplicants must possess a formal qualification and 10 years experience in new business development in a commercial/ industrial environment.Knowledge of the mining and energy sectors will be advantageous.Strategic and analytical thinking skills are essential in support of this position.Sound negotiations skills will also form part of the requirements in support of client interaction and business development.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage at all levels are essential/ critical, and being fully bilingual will be advantageous.A competitive cost to company remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful incumbent, which will include a rewarding incentive package on sustainable and viable business projects secured.
