Required skills for this position:Technical Skills:In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, including various types (e.g., two-stroke, four-stroke), fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.Proficiency in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as scan tools, multimeters, and pressure gauges.Experience in overhauling engines, including disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly.Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and heavy-duty vehicle components.Troubleshooting Expertise:Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and develop effective repair strategies.Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines.Experience in analyzing engine performance data and conducting performance tests to identify inefficiencies and malfunctions.Safety and Compliance:Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.Knowledge of environmental regulations related to diesel engines and hazardous waste disposal practices.Familiarity with relevant industry standards and certifications (e.g., ASE certification, EPA regulations).Leadership and Communication:Strong leadership skills to mentor and supervise junior mechanics, delegating tasks effectively, and providing guidance as needed.Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors, conveying technical information clearly and concisely.Ability to document work performed, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, accurately and comprehensively.Continuous Learning:Willingness to stay updated on advancements in diesel engine technology, diagnostic techniques, and industry best practices through training programs, workshops, and professional development opportunities.Adaptability to evolving technologies and willingness to embrace new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness in your role.Physical Requirements:Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments, including outdoor settings and potentially noisy or cramped spaces.Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects, maneuver equipment, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and kneeling.
