Our client in the Stainless Steel Industry is looking for a External Sales Representative to join their team in Port Elizabeth. Duties:Sales Planning:
- Input into strategies and budgets
- Achievement of Sales gross profit and gross profit percentage.
- Formulating Forward Calling Schedules in line with sales strategies and plans.
- Active involvement in the formal sales process, from enquiry to close of sale.
- Making decisions with regard to pricing, payment terms, settlement discounts, deliveries, credit limits, within defined authority parameters.
- Analysis of customer potential and activities.
- Active management of client portfolios (building of relationships and service element).
- Identification of potential within stock range and cold calling.
- Ongoing analysis of market conditions and trends.
- Feeding of marketplace information to management and to internal sales.
- Ongoing liaison with Management, Internal Sales, Stores and Admin.
- Production of weekly call reports.
- Production of monthly SBO reports.
Education and Requirements:
- Tertiary education (with a bias towards Maths, Business
Economics, Accounting, etc)
- A relevant technical qualification or other tertiary
qualification could be advantageous - Three to five years of sales experience, with a minimum of 2 years external sales experience.
- Exposure to the stainless steel industry is not
essential, it is an advantage. - Ability to apply formal sales concepts and methodologies.
- Selling skills : uncover information; ability to ask questions; negotiating and closing the deal.
- Client relationship management skills.
- Decision Making skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Word.
- Understanding the financial implication of decisions
made. - Must be willing to travel along the coast, between George and East London area.
