Tailings– Senior Engineer:
Gauteng (JHB) 5 – 10 years relevant experience Professional registration advantageousOur Client seeks to employ a self-motivated engineer to join our Tailings department and contribute to existing and new projects. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in an intermediate level position within a well-established consulting firm
The requirements associated with the position are as follows:
BEng or BSc (Eng) required 5-10 years of relevant experience BEng in Civil Engineering or similar Professional registration (PrEng) will be advantageous Experience in the design of tailings storage facilities, return water dams and associated infrastructure Experience in carrying out annual audit inspections on tailings storage facilities and return water dams Experience in surveillance of tailings and/or return water dams Experience in tender and contract documentation Experience in CPTu testing and interpretation preferred Experience in geotechnical investigations considered advantageous Good fundamental understanding and knowledge of geotechnics Exposure to associated civil engineering activities such as hydrology, structural design, dam breach assessments, water balances Candidate should be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint Proficiency in MS Project considered advantageous Candidate should be proficient in slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software, such as Geostudio. Candidate should be proficient in AutoCad Civil 3D or modelmaker Project management experience advantageous
