SAIPA Accountant • Newly Qualified ¦ Stellenbosch A medium-sized accounting and audit firm located in Stellenbosch currently has a vacancy for an SAIPA Accountant • Newly Qualified and is seeking an individual to join their team as soon as possible. The ideal candidate should have successfully completed their SAIPA articles, with a preference for prior experience in a medium or small accounting firm. In this role, the candidate will directly report to an Accounting Manager while also benefiting from oversight. However, it is essential for the candidate to demonstrate strong independent work capabilities and take full responsibility for managing their group of clients effectively. Minimum Requirements & Qualities Own transport and a valid driver’s license Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. The ability to work both independently and in a team. Strong communication skills, both in English and Afrikaans. A degree such as a BAcc, BCom Accounting, BCompt, or an equivalent degree. Being SAIPA registered is essential. Candidates who have completed articles with a medium/small firm are preferred. A working knowledge of CaseWare, Excel, and Word is necessary. An advanced understanding of Xero and Caseware is also expected. Duties (Including but not limited to) Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients on Xero Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT of Junior Accountants Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis Preparation and Review of management accounts Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements Preparation and Review of financial statements Performing independent reviews Preparation and Review of tax returns Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable Implementation / evaluation of internal controls Client interaction and relations Salary Our client offers a salary dependent on qualification and experience.
