- Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail planning
- Own car
- Organised and Industrious
- Able to easily prioritize and multitask
- Photoshop, Office, Outlook – Excel high level – software program pertaining to stock and buying levels
- Detail orientated, able to multitask, prioritize workload with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Ability to create, read, analyse, and interpret business reports
- Must be able to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions pertaining to reports
- Negotiation skills
- Keen understand for Purchasing Best Practice
- Acumen and passion for homeware sector and knowledge of products
- attention to detail
- High level for numeracy and IT
- Grasp of retail industry, financial and statistically minded
- Shipping and logistics experience
Job Description
- Analysing past sale figures/trends to anticipate future product and buying plan
- Planning which products, styles, colours to purchase from relevant supplier
- Maintaining and Quality control assessment of all products
- Monitoring stock levels - Minimising unnecessary stock holdings for maximising budget achievement
- Drive financial results that maximize sales, gross margins, inventory turn and bottom-line profitability
- Set up and manage OTB processes – in conjunction with a clearly defined annual buying calendar
- Generate and maintain weekly/monthly reports to analyse performance and inventory levels
- Analyse historical data and current trends to identify risk and opportunity
- Collaborate with management to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that aligns with future financial and product opportunities
- Setting up additional channels of distribution – oversee and monitor best practice to achieve budgets and profitability
- Implementing a stock taking program as cross-reference to product procurement systems
- Identifying customer preferences and forecast consumer trends specific to companies’ market
