The Machine Shop department currently has a vacancy for a detail orientated, process-driven, dedicated individual to join their team.
Duties will include but are not limited to :
Examine detailed drawings or specifications to establish the job, material and equipment requirements Program and set-up tooling in the CNC Turning and milling machine when manufacturing different components Perform routine and preventative maintenance practices on existing equipment Slotting or drilling metal stock or components Ensure that the quality of work meets the required standards Fit and assemble metal parts and tools or sub- assemblies Set up and / or operate hand and machine tools Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety ActQualifying Criteria:
Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent Relevant Red Seal Trade Test certificate would be advantageous Minimum of 5-8 years relevant working experience within the engineering or metal industry CNC Turning and Milling operating experience is a pre-requisite Extensive knowledge of power tools Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit) Good hand-eye coordination Hands on practical approach to the job Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules Ability to work under challenging conditions Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English) Must be prepared to work overtime when requiredQualifying attributes :
